Additionally a signed presentation from the author to William Everson (then Brother Antoninus) - 'For Brother Antoninus from Harry Stiehle.' Textured burgundy red cloth lettered gilt on front cover, v sl rubbing ; vg+. Text fairly… crudely printed typewriter style. Although Stiehl wrote circa 8 books inc a study of Auden none of his books seem to ever appear, most were published by Sea Vineyard editions His poetry although avowedly Roman Catholic is slightly gothic and slightly decadent or 'nineties' in style- and finely written. There are several mentions of fine wines and vineyards, possibly his family were in the wine business. RARE. There is a monograph/study of him in the Bancroft Library by Thomas P McDonell called 'Three Unpublished Poets' - the others being Raymond A Rosliep and Herbert A. Kenny. No date (1956?) Very good indeed. Signedes.
