Hardcover. Zustand: New. The book entitled Intensive Biofloc Nursery System for Vannamei Shrimp deals with the nursery rearing of P. vannamei in Biofloc based systems that can improve the digestive enzyme activity and immune response of the shrimp. High-density intensive nursery systems need a high amount of feed and other inputs. They also have a few disadvantages, such as organic waste accumulation and water quality problems. In view of this, biofloc technology has been developed for commercial aquaculture systems. This book covers the biofloc production technology, biofloc use in intensive nursery rearing system of P. Vannamei, biofloc in feed utilization, the bioavailability of biofloc, and extracellular enzyme activity. It also deals with the nutrient absorption, growth enhancement, and growth performance of P. Vannamei juveniles raised in indoor nursery raceway systems. This book will be useful not only for the students, teachers and researchers but also for the technical personnel and fish farmers of the fast-growing advanced aquaculture sector.'.

All chapters have been significantly explained in order to further clarify the basic concepts and make the interpretation of spectra that much easier. This book written explicitly for Post Graduate students and for new researchers in Natural products. The procedure and techniques employed for characterization of flavones by Elemental analysis, UV-visible spectra, IR Spectra, 1H-NMR Spectra and Mass spectra have been included. The physical parameters and Analytical data of the flavones are discussed. The experimental details of metal complexes, the measurements of Magnetic Susceptibility, Elemental analysis, Solution Conductivity, Electronic Absorption Spectra, Infrared Spectra, Mass Spectra, X-ray diffraction spectra and TG-DTA of metal complexes are given. Biological activity of flavones and their metal complexes have been explained briefly.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. This book remains a modest but sincere attempt towards the understanding of job satisfaction in its proper perspective. The study is organized into six chapters where the introductory, second and third chapters are on the theoretical background of the concept, its importance, related aspects and the in-depth review of the available literature. Chapter four discusses the research methodology adopted for the study i.e., the data sources, sample size, data consolidation, data collection through the questionnaire, questionnaire design, analysis techniques, etc. Chapter five is on the analysis of data and interpretation of results. The conclusion and suggestions are discussed in the concluding chapter.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. The book covers detailed information about mass production of living capsules, freshwater rotifers, in both the ways, conventional and advanced systems. Further, the book covered detailed information about design, construction and operation of RAS based rotifer culture system with minimum water wastage for commercial operation of finfish and shellfish hatcheries. The detailed experiments on algal production focused on enhancement of pigment content and biomass production of most cultured algal species, Chlorella vulgaris. All cultured ornamental fish species groups from North East India are addressed. Species collection, acclimatization, brood stock development, design and construction of advanced hatcheries and larval rearing raceways have been explained in details. Essential new facts on induced breeding and larval rearing of North East Indian ornamental fishes namely Danio Dangila and Puntius Sophore in advanced aquaculture system for mass production have been included. Further the book covered the most important portion of nutrition and feeds for effective growth of larva during their initial life stages. This book will be helpful for fish and crustacean farmers to understand the basic principles of advanced aquaculture systems all over the world and will surely help nation to develop blue economy more stable without affecting natural biodiversity.
Hardcover. Zustand: New. The post liberalized era since 1991 has assured a change and transformation in all walks of life people in India and once such is the Mall culture. In line with this the Indian retail industry has transformed itself to be a vibrant and modern mega sale shopping zones that invariably attracts all segments of buying community, be it children, youth and the aged at one side, the rich and the poor on the other side and the rural and urban at yet another side. In this book, the researcher has made a modest attempt to identify and understand various factors influencing the choice of purchase through Malls. There was also an attempt to explore the perception and expectations of the people using Malls for their purchase of various products. The Mall culture invading into India is more attracted by the urban population, particularly the professional segments of buyers and the business people. It is because the purchase could be complete under one roof concept, which has become a convenient means of shopping for the shoppers. Besides the Malls are created with an ambience of providing not only purchase features but also provides other services through food courts and entertainment perspectives for children. This book being to light the perception and expectations of the customers invading in to Malls.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. The soil is the most important constituent to fulfilment of all the basic needs of human beings. Soil is an important component of our farming. An eminent position in global cultivation of wheat, rice, jawar, pulses, sugarcane, vegetables and fruits etc. is occupied by Indian agriculture and reason of physical, chemical condition of whatever land is indispensable for proper implementation of the other management practices. Thus the physico-chemical study of territory is very significant because both physical and chemical properties which bear upon the soil productivity. This, physico-chemical study of soil is based on various parameters like pH, electrical conductivity, texture, moisture, temperature, soil organic matter, available nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. This knowledge will help to the people who are interested to work in agricultural field. Soil is one of the most important ecological factors containing a large number of different kinds of bacteria, plants and animals that compose inter-related biological complex. As a complex physical and biological system, it provides nutrients and oxygen for the organisms. The major physical and chemical features of soil are related to particle size, distribution, types of clay colloids, cation and anion exchange capacity, oxidation and reduction potential, soil reaction, electrical conductivity and nutrient dynamics. A healthy and judicious reduction condition should be maintained at the bottom to facilitate the optimum availability of nutrients as well as prevention of any unhealthy situation. Thus, soil plays an important role in fertility of fish life and water body. The physico-chemical parameters of water like temperature, pH, electric conductivity, total alkalinity, carbonates, bicarbonates, calcium, magnesium, hardness, chlorides, sulphates, nutrients like nitrates and phosphates, turbidity and total dissolved solids are important to know the trophic nature of the water body. Water bodies are generally of three types oligotrophic, mesotrophic and eutrophic. Usually mesotrophic water bodies are highly productive in nature.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. Geography is a multidisciplinary subject, and is gaining much importance. Geography ha: become an extremely varied, versatile and high empirical discipline, and its area of study has grown a great deal since its inception. Harvey (1969) opines that geography is concerned with the description and explanation of the areal differentiation on the earth's surface Growing human population is responsible for increasing demand for resources. The available resources are scarce in nature, on the one hand, and the population is growing rapidly on the other. Hence, it is the need of the hour to adopt the optimum utilization concept for effective conservation and management of resources. Fish has become an important source of food for many centuries. Even today it is also the prime source of food substances in many coastal countries in the world. Earlier fish capturing was practiced by man with traditional methods. Today, the modern means of technology are at man's disposal. As a result, modernization has been adopted along with traditional methods. Mechanization is adopted only in marine fishing, and traditional methods are practiced not only in aquaculture but also in marine fishing activities. The high level mechanization is found in the technically advanced countries and viceversa. Fishing is one of the extractive occupations of man. It is older than agriculture. Fish provides the easiest available food for man. However, fishing is unusually difficult and does not provide lively hood for many people. It hardly absorbs less than 2 percent of the worlds labour force. Fish provides an inexhaustible source of food supply due to its incredible capacity for multiplying. Thus, marine life has to play an important role as a domestic food of man kind in future, whatever the pressure of population. This book is the net outcome of research work Ph.D. thesis submitted to Karnataka University Dharwad.
