This was the first book in the marvelous "Mistresses of the Macabre" series edited by Richard Dalby, who has provided a learned Introduction. Galbraith's stories appeared in periodicals and very fragile paperbacks of the 1890s, and really only saved for modern readers due to Dalby's dedicated research and efforts. As the first volume in the series, this one's just about the hardest to find. If you could find it at all it will run more than twice the value of the most expensive later volume in this important series.
