Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. 2nd Edition. This is a nice copy (with seldom seen dust jacket) of the Sangreal 1972 version of Crowley's seminal Book 4, the foundation of much of his further work on Magick. Pages are good: a single neat former owner signature on front FEP (see photo), otherwise no other notes or annotations. A little minor foxing on front FEP but overwhelmingly the pages are clear and bright, just minor age wear mostly to text block only. Binding tight. Red boards complete and tidy. Unclipped DJ is good: a little nibbling and minor gaps (see photos) on spine; general minor shelf wear at top edges; some sunning; a little rubbing on fore edges; a couple of brown marks and rubbing on back cover; looks like a little clear tape covers a small tear or two on back (see photo); flaps are good especially rear one with the picture of Crowley (see photo). Overall the wrapper has clearly been handled over time and has wear, but is generally very sound and completely joined up with no danger of separation anywhere. This edition has many illustrations. Introduction by Israel Regardie. A nice copy, unusual in this state and rare with the DJ. See photos all of which are of the copy for sale, we don't use stock photos. Lengthy gift inscription on the front free endpaper. Bookseller's ticket on front pastedown. Small ink stamp on rear pastedown. In the dust jacket, with sporadic small closed and open tears in the edges, and light rubbing to the panels. Despite the aforementioned flaws, the jacket is rather attractive. In this work, Crowley describes his spiritual experiences and his investigation of the subtle planes of the Enochian. No other date listed. Presumed first Sangreal Foundation hardcover edition.…

Sangreal Foundation, Dallas, Texas 1972. Second Sangreal Printing. 116 S, 1 (w) Bl. White Hardcover with gilt title, etc. to spine and front cover. Mylar-protected dustjacket. The second printing of the Sangreal edition (first published in 1969) which included a new introduction by Israel Regardie. As has often been observed, this edition could more accurately have been entitled "Three Holy Books", as it contains only "Liber Liberi vel Lapidis Lazuli Sub Figura VII," "Liber Cordis Cincti Serpente Vel LXV," & "Liber DCCCXIII vel Ararita." Still, it was a ground breaking edition in terms of making these Holy Books available to a broader public - for many years it was the only relatively easy way to access the texts. - Inside cover with handwritten ownership note, otherwise a very good copy with a very good dust jacket.
