Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. First Edition. (no dust jacket, probably as issued) [light wear to extremities]. (B&W photographs, facsimiles) INSCRIBED ("To Dottie Furman") and SIGNED by Will Rogers Jr. on the front endpaper. A kind of documentary casebook on the death and legacy of Will Rogers, centered around the plane crash that took his life and that of famed pilot Wiley Post on August 15, 1935. Drawn from the extensive archival holdings of the Will Rogers Memorial, it presents facsimiles of news stories of the time (including coverage from immediately preceding the flight), reproductions or transcriptions of letters and telegrams, and numerous photographs and related documents. Much of the coverage has to do with the numerous posthumous tributes and honors received by Rogers, including the establishment of the Will Rogers Memorial itself (of which the author was the Director). Signed by Associated.

Zustand: MEDIOCRE. Rara copia di un libro che l'autore sintetizza così nel pieghevole allegato: A succession of episodes during an active life of very varied experiences. These include a boyhood amid Naval traditions, visits to Australia and New Zealand, and a residence in California in the State's youthful days of 1868. After many years of business and public affairs in Liverpool, journeyings are again taken up, to Argentina and to Russia, each country being frequently visited. An official appointment in Rome throughout eleven years covered most of the War period, and then the recovery from chaotic conditions in Italy, which has taken place under the guidance of Signor Mussolini. The near relationship to Jane Austen, a very precious possession, influences the story in several chapters of the book. Hubback fu anche il primo traduttore inglese di Sigmund Freud. cm.14x21,5, pp.(2),X,212, NOTA:Sopraccoperta con strappetti e una macchia di umidità in margine; fioriture diffuse alla copertina. / Bedford, printed for the Author by Rogers G.
