A collection of beautiful colour plates accompanies this second volume of a botanical reference which describes the plants and herbs. Boards are worn and a little scuffed, fraying on the sides. A few pages are separating, but still intact. Previous owners name on the first end paper. Overall, its a decent copy.

Nice copy of this sixth edition, enlarged and improved in green decorated cloth with gilt title/decoration to spine with slight wear to top/bottom. nd circa mid 1800s. xxxvi, 450pp. 32 page supplement.The index to the plants in the supplement is present as are the 25 colour plates, coloured frontis and coloured title page plus the nerves and skeleton. Marks to boards. Rough cut edges some not cut. Pages i to iv have a small piece missing top left corner no affecting text. Irregularly cut page dges with slight loss, one page with small closed tear. Gutter showing at page 208 but still firm. Slight marks throughout. Some ripples and marks to end papers. Bookseller blind stamp to original ffep. Overall a good tight copy.
