In den WarenkorbZustand: Very Good. A 17.5 x 12 inch print, hand-printed at the Officina Bodoni and signed and numbered (475 were printed) by the artist. It was originally commissioned to accompany an anthology of speeches on the theme of European Union (Europe: The Quest for Unity (London: Ranelagh Editions, 1975)), and may be taken to depict an image of hope emerging from a landscape of bodies either dispossessed or slain by war. Insofar as the image is both allegorical and rough-hewn, it is an atypical Annigoni piece. However, its style of draughtsmanship, sense of composition and emphasis upon perspective all pay a marked homage to the Italian Renaissance masters; and a deep allegiance to the techniques of the latter were what, rather than a rejection of abstract art per se, defined AnnigoniÕs unusual place in the story of twentieth century art. A noteworthy image in excellent clean condition. Signedes.
