Bookplate of Shrewsbury Library to front paste downs. Externally, suffering from bumping and rubbing with the spines of the three hardbacks severely chipped and peeling. Several small chips to boards and all copies feature moderate marking and discolouration. Two cloth copies in slightly better condition with less loss of cloth but still suffering from the same shelf wear. Internally, generally firmly bound. Boards of all hardback editions particularly fragile with the board of the final volume almost entirely loose. Stamp of Shrewsbury Library to title pages and plates. Relatively bright and clean examples with light sporadic spotting throughout, heavier to first and last few pages. Good Only. Mrs Griffith (illustrator). book.
