First six leaves with tiny corner off. Inscription reads "Thos. B. Preslau, with hearty regards of John Habberton" and ex libris of Estelle Doheny. *A bachelor's vicissitudes looking after the two children of his sister and written in "baby talk". A lovely set of the first books that were a literary success by this author and became a great humorous classic in rather scarce first editions and one with nice inscriptions. From the library of Estelle Doheny (1875-1958) a noted bibliophile whose magnificent collection was sold by Christie's in 1988. 2 volumes. Hardcover.
