Hardcover. Zustand: New. Buddha was born approximately 400 BCE in the districtof Lumbini, which is now modern-day Nepal, close to the Indianborder. He was brought up in a palace with all the comfortsand luxuries possible. Growing up a young noble prince, it issaid his father sought to shield the young prince Siddharthafrom the p…ain and suffering of the world. It is said his fatherhad a premonition that Siddhartha would one day renounce theworld. The Buddha would often give talks on enlightenment, buton one occasion, he simply held up a flower and maintainedsilence. Many left not understanding the point, but when laterquestioned, the Buddha replied that his real teaching couldonly be understood in silence. Talks could only give limitedintellectual information which was not real enlightenment. The Buddha sought to avoid deep philosophy, he avoidedusing the term God, preferring to talk about the practical waythat a person may escape the cycle of birth and rebirth andattain enlightenment. Like many spiritual teachers, he oftentaught in parables to keep his teachings simple and practical.Armed with his new knowledge, the Buddha was initiallyhesitant to teach, because what he now knew could not becommunicated to others in words. According to legend, it wasthen the king of gods, Brahma, convinced Buddha to teach, andhe got up from his spot under the Bodhi tree and set out todo just that. For the remainder of his 80 years, Buddha traveled, preaching the Dharma (the name given to the teachings of theBuddha) in an effort to lead others to and along the path of enlightenment. When he died, it is said that he told his disciplesthat they should follow no leader. The Buddha is undoubtedly one of the most influentialfigures in world history, and his teachings have affectedeverything from a variety of other faiths (as many find theirorigin.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. 1st Edition. Microeconomics is a branch of economics that studies the behavior of individual households and firms in making decisions on the allocation of limited resources. Typically, it applies to markets where goods or services are bought and sold. Microeconomics examines how these decisions and behav…iors affect the supply and demand for goods and services, which determines prices, and how prices, in turn, determine the quantity supplied and quantity demanded of goods and services. Microeconomics is primarily concerned with the factors that affect individual economic choices, the effect of changes in these factors on the individual decision makers, how their choices are coordinated by markets, and how prices and demand are determined in individual markets. Microeconomic decisions by both firms and individuals are motivated by cost and benefit considerations. Costs can be either in terms of financial costs such as average fixed costs and total variable costs or they can be in terms of opportunity costs, which consider alternatives foregone. This book provides deep insight to various dimensions of issues relating to the subject.

Investment is one of the important segment of capital formation. Investment management encourages investor to participate in the securit…y market. The mechanism of the security market is relatively technical and dealing in the market requires skill. An investment is an asset or item acquired with the goal of generating income or appreciation. In an economic sense, an investment is the purchase of goods that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth. In finance, an investment is a monetary asset purchased with the idea that the asset will provide income in the future or will later be sold at a higher price for a profit. An investor sets aside some money today to realize the financial goals stated in the financial plan. How much money can be set aside now depends on the present circumstances. This can be understood by understanding the income, assets and liabilities of the individual investor. This book provides students with an elaborate introduction to the process of investing in financial assets. The book also takes the outlook of both an individual investor and an investment manager.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. Electronic Warfare in China: Intelligence, Interference, and Innovation provides an in-depth examination of how the People's Liberation Army (PLA) is reshaping modern warfare through mastery of the electromagnetic spectrum. Written by Lt. Col. (Retd.) Joginder Singh, this groundbreaking book explores how… China's doctrine views electronic warfare (EW) as the new battlefield frontier an invisible yet decisive domain shaping power, deterrence, and control. The book unveils how the PLA integrates intelligence gathering, electromagnetic interference, satellite disruption, and cyber dominance into a unified war strategy. By analyzing China's use of electronic reconnaissance, data exploitation, and advanced command-control systems, the author offers an insightful view into Beijing's technological evolution in defense. Drawing from open-source intelligence, military publications, and field studies, the book presents a comprehensive picture of how China's electronic warfare capabilities are now central to its global military posture. Through detailed chapters, Lt. Col. Singh investigates the rise of China's electronic and information-based warfare systems, the evolution of EW technology, the development of drones and unmanned systems, and Beijing's military-industrial research ecosystem. The author also explains how advanced radar, stealth, and anti-radiation systems have given the PLA a strategic edge in disrupting adversaries' communication and surveillance systems. In addition, the book highlights the geopolitical implications of China's progress in this field showing how these innovations are reshaping the Indo-Pacific's balance of power. Readers gain a rare understanding of the intersection between intelligence, military modernization, and technological innovation. With clarity and authority, this book serves as an essential resource for defense professionals, policymakers, strategists, and scholars of international relations who wish to understand how China is redefining warfare in the digital era.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. Diasporas have emerged as powerful entities since they are recognized as 'soft power' in the realm of foreign policy strategy and also as an agent or catalyst of economic development of countries of origin beside their active role in the host countries. For instance, in the economic sphere, the Chinese D…iaspora has been seen as a propelling force for its emergence as an economic super power. In the political sphere, the Jewish Diaspora has a strong grip over the US and European Union in terms of shaping their strategic relationship with Israel. Hence, Diasporas being transnational communities have become important non-state actors as well as deciding factors in international political and economic relations. One could argue that Diaspora policy and Indian foreign policy are two sides of the same coin. As discussed above, it is productive and counter - productive as well. India is yet to utilize the potential of Indian Diaspora in its domain of foreign affairs. For instance, India has been demanding for permanent seat in the UN Security Council, but it has not been realized so far. Indian Diaspora can be utilized for achieving the long due aspirations of India. In the recent decades, the international migration of semi-skilled and high skilled Indians has seen an upsurge due to demand of software Industry and H1-B visa phenomena. A tangible and scrupulous Diaspora policy is imperative to leverage upon the growing Indian Diaspora population. With the versatile role of Diaspora, India could fulfill its cherished dream of being a super power and it could make much head way in its international and foreign affairs. This book is an attempt to analyze the impact of India's diaspora policy with regard to Indian diaspora in Southeast Asia.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. Political Crisis in Nepal by Dr. M.K. Singh is a compelling and well-researched account of one of the most transformative phases in Nepal's modern political history. It examines how a series of political crises reshaped the nation's democratic institutions, tested the resilience of its citizens, and rede…fined Nepal's political and social landscape. The book traces the journey from peaceful protests and youth mobilization to the fall of governments, leadership challenges, and the rise of new democratic voices. Through sharp analysis and vivid case studies, Dr. Singh explores how the people of Nepal navigated uncertainty, sought stability, and built new pathways toward accountability and governance. Each chapter brings together the perspectives of policymakers, activists, and ordinary citizens who played a role in shaping the country's destiny. Unlike conventional political studies that focus solely on conflict, Political Crisis in Nepal goes deeper highlighting the creative strategies employed by civil society, the role of media and youth in fueling democratic dialogue, and the influence of regional geopolitics on Nepal's domestic stability. It also provides rare insights into key moments, including K.P. Sharma Oli's resignation, the 20202025 political shifts, and the emergence of Nepal's first female Prime Minister. By blending academic rigor with engaging narrative, Dr. Singh provides a holistic picture of a society in transition one that faced deep internal fragmentation yet showed remarkable capacity for renewal and reform. The book emphasizes how transparency, accountability, and participatory politics became central to Nepal's recovery from instability. More than a chronicle of political events, this work serves as a reflection on resilience, civic engagement, and democratic evolution. It offers valuable lessons not just for Nepal but for any country struggling to balance identity, governance, and change in a volatile global order. For students of political science, international relations, and South Asian studies, Political Crisis in Nepal is an essential reference. For general readers, it's a moving portrait of a nation redefining its values amid turmoil a story of struggle, adaptation, and hope. By examining the roots and repercussions of political transformation, this book stands as a testament to Nepal's enduring democratic spirit and the power of ordinary citizens to shape history through courage and dialogue.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. The main and first and foremost objective of India's Foreign Policy like that of any other country-is to secure its national interests. The scope of "national interests" is fairly wide. In our case it includes for instance: securing our borders to protect territorial integrity, countering cross-border te…rrorism, energy security, food security, cyber security, creation of world class infrastructure, non-discriminatory global trade practices, equitable global responsibility for the protection of environment, reform of institutions of global governance to reflect the contemporary realities, disarmament, regional stability, international peace and so on. India is the largest democracy in the world. India has consistently followed the policy of peace, friendly relations with other countries arid sovereign equality of all nations big and small. The success of India's policy lies in the fact that it has well adjusted with the changing times and circumstances and its core principles have stood the test of time. Ultimately, India's foreign policy direction may not follow any of these geometric designs, but rather take a more flexible path. These formulations may at the outset seem contradictory, but the test of a foreign policy is in holding contrasting directions and still finding the dexterity to operate and move in order to protect and promote India's national interests. India is a politically stable country and its economy is steady. India is building up its military muscles slowly but steadily. As a large market India is an attractive destination for foreign investments, joint ventures, commodity exports. India's stature in international affairs has arguably grown considerably in recent years. Arguably India's time has come. A certain degree of assertiveness in foreign affairs was visible even during the past five years, when India appeared to punch according to its weight.

Hardcover. Zustand: New. Sri Lanka's is the more egregious story, with the tax-to-GDP ratio having dropped by a third in three years as rates got slashed. Inevitably, the country's credit ratings suffered, budget deficits soared to an astonishing 14 per cent of GDP, and the roll-over of foreign loans (used unwisely to fill the f…iscal gaps) went from difficult to impossible leading to the foreign exchange crisis and collapse of the currency. China uses the debt trap policy against the developing nations to establish its economic and political power over them. This theory can be proved right with the live example of Sri Lanka, where the nation had signed away its most strategically positioned port in the Indian Ocean to China as part of a 99-year lease. The "Chinese debt trap" has led to an overestimation of China's role in Sri Lanka's debt accumulation. In reality however, when a wider definition called Public and Publicly Guaranteed (PPG) debt is considered, China's commercial lending to the government and the State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) showed that the debt share stood at much higher numbers than mentioned in those sources. Such problems are a cause of concern for any country themselves, but it is to be noted that the neighbouring countries are also affected because of these problems. The book has been developed and delivered by world leading experts and engages institutional leaders who will share their experiences and expertise with the participants.
