Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Most Diversity and Inclusion efforts focus too much on others, and lack in developing self-awareness. They leave some feeling excluded and fail to create real measurable impact for marginalized populations. Through the creation of the Creating Belonging Model, I believe that the greatest impact can be made when we begin with deep self-awareness and self-acceptance, pivoting quickly to a radical acceptance of others. When we balance our own authenticity with acceptance, we create belonging for everyone in the community.

Hardcover. 12mo. Black cloth spine and grey paper over boards. viii, 80pp, (2pp ads). Very good. Probable sole edition of this Indian curiosity, whose half-title proclaims it "Essential reading for all people, everywhere!" Author Nayyar defied all attempts to pin down birth/death year, profession and so on, although the title page notes he was "Formerly Professor in Banaras Hindu University" and it is known he published several other titles including "This Mysterious Life" (1949), "Way to Life" (1972), "The Way We Live" (1974) and this undated, rather homespun production, apparently produced in 1955. This slim history of India's 1948 struggle for independence bears a choice provenance, though, as the front flyleaf bears the rubberstamped ownership signature of Adlai E. Stevenson II (1900-65), Illinois governor and two-time Democratic presidential candidate. Following his 1952 defeat to Dwight Eisenhower, Stevenson took a much-publicized 35 nation world tour, during which he met world leaders galore and others of significance -- and visited India as well, during which time perhaps he met Nayyar. It appears that Nayyar mailed Stevenson this book himself, for above Stevenson's ownership signature he has affixed the 2¼" X 1 3/4" return address portion of a grey envelope, on which Nayyar writes "From M.R. Nayyar, / Old Bazaar, / Ludhiana, India" in blue ink, and below his ownership signature he has affixed the 2 3/4" X 1¼" stamped portion of this envelope bearing three Indian postage stamps and illegible postal cancellation. Interesting and unusual.

A very good copy in stapled wrappers with some small chipping to the bottom of the front cover and first few pages, some sunning to the edge of the front cover and some other minor wear. Scarce, with only 8 copies listed in OCLC and none in commerce. Signed.
First printing. (20) pp., 7 x 8.5 inches. Stapled into printed card covers. Jean Duval Chapbook Series no. 2. Book design & layout by Jean Kondo Weigl; cover by Judy Garlan.A touch of sunning to covers along the spine, otherwise a fine, bright copy. The surprisingly scarce fourth book by Lux; WorldCat notes eight institutional holdings. After his translations, Lux quotes from the introduction to I. L. Salomon's 1968 book of versions:DINO CAMPANA (1885ñ1932), the poet of?Orphic Songs (Canti Orfici) was the wild man of Italian poetry in 1914 on the eve of the Great War. He is as important to 20th century poetry as, say, Lorca, or Mayakovsky. His poems and prose poems are unique. They read as if they were thrown into the wind in an ecstasy of violence. They reflect the disintegration of a man.
