Inscribed by Routsong on the half-title: "To Julie Radford, an old friend of longstanding, with love and thanks from Isabel Miller. November 30, 1990." Radford succeeded Routsong in the affections of her longtime partner and muse Elizabeth Deran, although they all remained good friends and neighbors. Deran was originally Routsong's partner and the longtime motivating force in her life during the time she wrote *A Place for Us*, which was selected by the American Library Association as the winner of its first Gay Book Award (now called the Stonewall Book Award). A significant association. Books signed by Routsong are uncommon.
