Published on the occasion of an exhibition at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montréal. Fine. A mint, signed copy. From the publisher: "In 1988 the Canadian Centre for Architecture began an extraordinary photographic commission: to photograph the present state of the parks, private estates, subdivisions, and cemeteries designed by Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903), North America's most important landscape architect. Photographers Robert Burley, Lee Friedlander, and Geoffrey James spent seven years visiting and revisiting Olmsted's landscapes -- from the best known, such as Central Park in New York City and Boston's Emerald Necklace, to the lesser known, such as Lake Park in Milwaukee and Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland. The object was to investigate the place of these parks in the city today, examining them photographically from many different viewpoints. Viewing Olmsted is an introduction to the complex archive of 936 photographs that was formed at the CCA from this commission." Signed by Author. Signed.

Zustand: Sehr gut. xix, 340 S., 23cm Zustand: sehr gut, leicht gebräunt --- Inhalt: The papers included in this volume were especially prepared to bring to the attention of the scientific community the important discoveries that have been made in recent times concerning the thermal characteristics of the moon. From a knowledge of the thermal characteristics, deductions concerning lunar structure and the history of the formation of the moon are facilitated. Written by leading lunar and thermal authorities, the papers are grouped into four parts, covering measurements made from earth, measurements made on the moon, studies of material brought to earth from the moon, and an overall historical survey of the moon`s interior from a thermal standpoint. Softcover. Zustand: Near Fine. 210 pp.; 8vo; white wrappers printed in black & red. Bibliography by Marie-Pascale Gildemyn. Hint of toning & soil at edges of white covers. Marcel Broodthaers (b. January 28,1924 d. January 28, 1976) was a Belgian poet, filmmaker and artist. He struggled with poverty for twenty years as a poet, before the idea of inventing something insincere dawned on him which began with the production of objects such as embedding fifty unsold copies of his book of poems Pense-Bête in plaster as "a concrete gesture", in which one cannot access the book without destroying the sculpture, passing this prohibition along to the viewer. "During his short yet prolific period as an artist, he radically rethought conventional approaches to poetry, film, books, and exhibition practice itself, proving enormously influential to future generations of artists." (Francis Wilmott, MoMA).
