Zustand: Gut. 168 Seiten. Illustrierte Original-Klappbroschur Spanish and English texts. - "Fifty years of Architecture in Madrid. This catalogue, now appearing in book form, originated from a project undertaken in 1992 (on this same subject) thanks to a yearly grants program for architectural research, awarded by the Ministry of Public Works` Department of Housing and Architecture and the Juan Herrera Institute. It seeks to illustrate, as its title indicates, a series of modern architectural works in Madrid that no longer exist either due to demolition or to transformations or modifications that have made them unrecognizable. We thought it better to present this catalogue in chronological order so as to coincide with the beginning of modern architecture. We are well aware that from the point of view of architectural theory this may be a doubtful simplification, but it is very helpful in clarifying this kind of work as it helps to define its limits. The term `Modern` - understood within the framework of international Modern Movemet trends - is the referential guide for the catalogue. The idea of lost architecture implies the inclusion of recent examples within the concept of architectural heritage. This idea is in conflict with the more radical theories of the avantguard. These theories rested upon that complex relationship with the past which clearly establishes the basis for Modernity." -- Good copy, wrappers with minor edge yellowing. ___ ### Due to the current unstable customs policy: NO SHIPPING to the USA at this time! // Derzeit kein Versand in die USA ! ###. ___ Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.
