From 1907 to 1917 he was editor of the India Rubber Journal in London. The recipient, Isaac Henry Burkill, was a Cambridge-educated tropical botanist who worked in India and Singapore where he was director of the Botanic Gardens, carrying forward the work of his predecessor, Henry Ridley, in the area of para rubber. Burkill was the author of the authoritative Dictionary of Economic Products of Malay Peninsula (1935). Octavo.
