La obra consiste en un comentario categórico jurídico del capítulo de corregidores de las leyes de Castilla. Las hojas [315-320] y [1-8], contienen provisiones reales en castellano, una primera con una especie de formulario para designar al corregidor de una ciudad. Segunda edición, la primera es la Medina del Campo (1557). Existe una tercera edición aparecida en Salamanca (1581) y una cuarta en Madrid (1597). El impresor, Domingo Portonaris (act. 1568-1585), perteneció a una saga de ilustres impresores italianos, primero establecidos en Lyon al calor de su floreciente industria editorial y luego expandidos a centros editoriales secundarios.
