The results of this study show that the COED influences domestic consumers¿ quality evaluation, preference, and purchase intention regarding a product manufactured domestically, but available both domestically and internationally. Specifically, consumers¿ product knowledge negatively moderates the COED effect on the quality evaluation of the car and mahogany furniture. This finding is similar to the halo effect in the country of origin (COO) literature. In addition, different export destinations have different effects on consumers¿ preference and purchase intention. In contrast to studies in the COO literature, this research demonstrates that nationalism and internationalism are positively related to the intention to purchase an exported product. This author reinvestigated the myosin to actin stoichiometry from one-dimensional gels of myofibrils prepared by different procedures. Next, this author addressed the critical issue of whether the differences in actin concentration during the different methods of muscle preparation were a result from loss of actin or removal of contaminants that comigrate with actin. In examining this question, two-dimensional electrophoresis, sodium dodecyl sulfate in the first dimension and isoelectric focusing in the second dimension were performed on myofibrillar preparations of rabbit muscle. The study shows that non-past tense in Japanese occurs quite frequently in narratives despite the fact that the narratives are stories about past experiences. It is observed that the Japanese non-past tense is used in narratives to express general facts that are not only true at the moment of the story but also at the moment of speaking. This use of the non-past tense is found when the speaker gives background information or his or her opinions in the orientation portion of the discourse.
