A fan of Victorian architecture, many of Betjeman's poems were inspired by such buildings as well as of the British landscapes he greatly admired, including Harrow-on-the-Hill (Chrysanthemums) and The Newest Bath Guide (Nip). Dust wrappers are very smart, with only the odd handling mark. Small damp stain to reverse of wrap of vols I, II, and IV. Marginal age toning to all reverse of wraps, as well as slight spotting to reverse of wraps except for vols V, VI, XII, and XIII. Spotting to fore edges of all volumes except XII.
