Zustand: Gut. VII; 513 S.; 8°. Gutes Ex.; Umschl. mit kl. Läsuren; Rücken verblaßt. - Edited by Ruth F. Lax / Sheldon Bach / J. Alexis Burland. - The understanding of rapprochement, with its conflicts and resolutions, is a major addition to psychodynamic thinking of the past quarter century. Here is the first book to present a clear and complete elaboration of the rapprochement subphase of the separation-individuation process and to clarify its meaning in child development, its role in both child and adult pathology, and its implications for therapy. Although Margaret Mahler's intention was to study the normal separation-individuation process, she inevitably observed pathological deviations, particularly in the outcome of the rapprochement crisis. She reported behavioral outcomes ranging from neurotic symptomatology to narcissistic and borderline phenomena, and showed that an unresolved rapprochement crisis creates fixation points and intrapsychic conflict that affect the oedipal resolution. The book opens with Mahler's seminal paper, "Rapprochement Subphase of the Separation-individuation Process." Here are presented her conceptualizations, methodology, and observations of infant behavior. // Separation-Individuation: An Organizing Principle by Gertrude and Rubin Blanck - The Primal Matrix Configuration by Bernard L. Zustand: Gut. (1. Ausgabe der Sammlung). XII; 236 S.; 23 cm. Gutes Ex.; Umschl. gering berieben; etwa 10 seiten mit -Bleistiftanstreichungen. - Englisch. - This volume is a specific and lucid presentation of the important clinical concept of projective identification. This term refers to the psychological mechanisms of unconscious projective fantasies in association with the evocation of congruent feelings in others, that is, the way in wh ich one person makes use of another person to experience and contain an aspect of himself. The projector has the primarily unconscious fantasy of getting rid of an unwanted or endangered part of himself (including internal objects) and of depositing that part into another person in a powerfully controlling way. In association with this unconscious projective fantasy there is an interpersonal interaction by means of which the recipient is pressured to think, feel, and behave in a manner congruent with the ejected feeling and the self- and object-representations embodied in the projective fantasy. The recipient is pressured to engage in an identification with a specific, disowned aspect of the projector. The clinical usefulness of the concept of projective identification has suffered from imprecision of definition and has been the source of considerable confusion in the literature. Many of the stalemates and dead ends of therapy become open to study and modification through the understanding of projective identification. . (Verlagstext) / INHALT : Introduction ---- The Concept of Projective Identification ---- Issues of Technique ---- Contrasting Psychoanalytic Approaches ---- The Developmental Impact of Excessive Maternal Projective Identification ---- Psychiatric Hospital Treatment ---- The Nature of Schizophrenic Conflict ---- Treatment of the Schizophrenic State of Nonexperience.
