These poems were first published in 1794 and the title is held in a number of UK academic libraries. This, the second edition, is not recorded on COPAC.…

Original sand-coloured embossed bindings. Complete but mediocre set, bindings stained and edgeworn, bookblocks recased with new / strengthened endpapers but front hinge loose, some plates loose / last map w. tear in margin, pages browned / foxed. Please see description or ask for photos.

Pp. lxvii, (1), 450; (viii), 564; (viii), 527, (1), viii. With 28 engraved plates. A good, uncut copy in contemporary boards, cloth spines (slightly faded) with title labels. Old ownership signature on titles. Reverend Heber, the Bishop of Calcutta, first arrived in India in 1823. He travelled extensively around the country for some years and died in Madras in 1826. His work is based on letters and diary notes and was posthumously published by his widow Amalia Heber. First published in quarto in the same year (1828). Occasionally some minor staining but overall a crisp, good copy. "A highly valuable and most delightful work" (Lowndes ii, p. 1030).…

Quarter Leather. Zustand: Very Good (as such). 1st Edition. 1st Edition. [2],31,[1],18p.;original pamphlet attributed to both Duncan Forbes and Robert Dundas, Lord Aniston. The pamphlet has separate pagination for "A Letter." after "the Considerations. Recently bound in half leather with marbled boards. The title page of the pamphlet which is modestly holed has been professionaly rebacked and has a signature of a prevous owner; the remainder is very good + apart from the last leaf which has two internal blind tears without any loss of text.
