In better than very good condition. Flake 700. First issued in double-column pages, with chapter headings, chronological data, revised foot-note references, pronouncing vocabulary and index, in 1920. Leather Bound. Zustand: Very Good. 568pp. Duodecimo [19.5 cm] Black pebbled limp leather wraps with the title stamped in gilt on the spine. Rose gilt text block edges. Black moire endpapers. Tiny chip in leather at head of spine. 12" split in front endpaper along the hinge. Contemporary gift inscription on the verso of the front flyleaf. Text block only just beginning to crack at the title page, but still very sturdy. Very minor marks and brief underlining and notations here and there (mostly in pencil, however a handful in pen). Majority of the pages clean and bright. Complete. Flake 695. With the "connot" and "I, Nephi, 3" errors. First issued in double-column pages, with chapter headings, chronological data, revised foot-note references, pronouncing vocabulary and index, in 1920. A very attractive copy.…

Shaw was a member of an overland party numbering some 50 men nder the rubric "the Mount Washington Mining Company." Their Boston-to-California expedition began in April and concluded in September, 1849.
