First McLarty edition, sole printing, number 81 of 200 copies signed by the illustrator. The designer, William James "Jack" McLarty (1919-2011), was a prolific painter and printer who lived for most of his life in Portland, Oregon. He opened the city's first co-operative gallery, the Image Gallery, in 1961, and printed this work at the Portland Museum Art School, where he was a teacher. His woodcuts reveal the influence of early 20th-century Japanese prints and the German Expressionists. His work was featured in exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art in 1962 and the Smithsonian in 1974. Marvell's erotic poem was first printed in 1681. Square octavo, pp. 8.
