Norton, The Fight for Everes…t: 1924 (1925); Hugh Ruttledge, Everest 1933 (1934); and Hugh Ruttledge, Everest: The Unfinished Adventure (1937). An important collection of the principal British Everest expedition accounts from the heroic pre-war period, covering the reconnaissance of 1921, the first climbing attempt of 1922, the tragic 1924 expedition during which Mallory and Irvine disappeared, and the later British attempts of 1933 and 1936. All plates and maps collated and complete. Occasional foxing. Repairs to the reverse of a couple of maps. The 1925 volume is in secondary Arnold binding and is from the Permanent Library of The Times Book Club, marked "Not for Sale". Bindings nice and tight with some rubbing, bumping and light wear. Very good indeed overall.
