First edition hard back binding in publisher's original decorated navy cloth covered boards, blocked and lettered gilt back and front, publisher's olive and cream floral patterned end papers. 8vo. 7'' x 5''. Contains colour frontispiece (viii), 261 pp. Hinges cracked, rubbing to the corners and across the spine ends. Member of the P.B.F.A. BOTANY (Phytology).

Reprint of the 1591 title 'The Honorable Entertainement gieven to the Queenes Majestie, in Progresse, at Elvetham in Hampshire, by the Right Honourable the Earle of Hertford.' The property was owned lately by the Calthorpe family. Covers sunned and a bit stained at rear, some wrinkling and staining at edge of pages otherwise sound close VG. Signedes.
