Sigrid Undset (1882-1949) was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1928, her Kristin Lavransdatter trilogy being instrumental in her selection. Her small book of poetry was published when she was 28, but remains "virtually unknown in the non-Norwegian world, and little known in Norway.a casual reading of her poems reveals them as the well-spring for her later novels," per the publishers. Evabeth Astrup (illustrator).
