A very bright copy, beautifully illustrated by Ralph Pinto. From 1964-1984, Harlan Quist published over sixty children's books, featuring some of the finest European and American authors and illustrators.

Slim square quarto [27 cm] Black cloth over boards with a white ink stamped title on the backstrip. Gentle bumping to the spine ends and corners of the covers. In a price-clipped dust jacket with moderate rubbing and light scratching to the surface, and an insignificant short closed tear in the top edge of the rear panel. A very attractive copy. The author's first book for children. Guy Monreal worked as a journalist for "Express Magazine" in Paris. Pictures by Nicole Claveloux, a French painter, illustrator, and comic book artist.

Briefly Inscribed by the author with an ink drawing of a bird on the front flyleaf. Levine is the author of seven children's books and is an accomplished director and choreographer.
