The selection of the participants is done through four variables namely: age, gender, educational status and marital status. In this study, two theoretical framework are selected as a model of analysis namely the communication accommodation theory and the power and solidarity theory of Brown and Gilman. The study finds that the age and family status are the most effective determiners of address choice in Mosul society.Language is the main way for exchanging information and knowledge. In addition, it shows individuals¿ identities, cultures, relationships and preferences to become closer or distant from each other. The way people open and end conversation, and address one another in a given situation are significant in the study of communication. Address forms are not neutral in communication. They convey attitudes and feelings; the choice of these terms is based on the way interlocutors evaluate communication situation. The choice of address terms reveals the social relationship between the addresser and the addressee. Meanwhile, it represents the social characteristics of speaker. Every time one person speaks to another, there is created a host of options centering around whether and how persons will be addressed or named. By now, still there are many unanswered questions about address terms, since address terms are as complicated as the society itself. This involved a series of focus groups comprising of policing personnel and was intended to gain insight into the values and attitudes of criminal justice professionals. The focus groups took the form of semi-structured interviews. Recordings and transcripts were analysed for themes that may help to understand how the professionals in question perceive their role and function in a modern policing agency.Among the issues mentioned by the participants was a degree of frustration at the limited resources that were available to them. These points were apparently seen as irritations rather than major challenges. For the participants, issues of impartiality and motivation were consistently expressed and appeared to be of considerable relevance. In support of this, they reported achieving motivation through adherence to legal statutes and procedural protocols, and in so doing they felt that they were ¿doing the job properly¿ rather than simply ¿catching bad guys¿. This may be the key to the non-confrontational calm of the Nordic image. In order to assess whether Thatcher¿s regency classifies as neoliberal, this paper conducted a literature review to compare Thatcher¿s policies with the neoliberal ideology constructed by von Hayek and Friedman.Thereby, significant similarities in the perception of socialism, as well as the importance of individual freedom and the handling of inflation were detected, just as significant differences in the fields of Law & Order, Centralization, and National identity.Thus, this paper concludes that Thatcher¿s regency included several important elements of neoliberal thought, but also showed several contradictions to this ideology. The sample was drawn from five work sections covering from brick molding up to brick dispatch and these were; brick extruding, brick cutting, brick setting, brick packing and brick dispatching. The research was based on questionnaires and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NOISH) inspection checklist for ergonomic factors as methods of gathering the required data. Total of 38 questionnaires were used to assess employees on common ergonomic hazards and ergonomic hazard awareness. The questionnaires were used to establish worker perceptions with regards to ergonomics. A total of 40 inspections were conducted using the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NOISH) ergonomic checklist to identify the ergonomic hazards. Descriptive analysis was done using SPSS version 16.0 of 2007 to get frequency and percentiles. The results showed that the common ergonomic hazards were repetition, awkward postures, forceful motion, stationary work positions and vibration. The study found that employees are exposed to ergonomic hazards which include repetition, awkward postures, forceful motions, stationary working positions, vibration, work stress. From the results of the study it is evidenced that this brick company is not an ergonomically safe workplace. Adapting Sigmund Freud¿s concept of melancholia in the context of diaspora theory I seek to demonstrate that the inarticulate loss of the motherland and the position inbetween cultures disorients and traumatises the subject. England¿s aggressive authority and force were considered a frequent method of maintaining social control and were therefore often addressed by late-eighteenth and early-nineteenth-century writers. Detective stories were able to turn such obsolete aggression into a more contemporary, benign authority by offering detection as a possibility to avoid despotic representations of government authority.Modern British detective fiction tends to include transcultural perspectives. Today, writers use a variety of topics, sometimes even combined with ancient myths or tales in order to attract more readers at home and abroad. Their demand for service-oriented workforce (77%) is higher than that for production-oriented workforce (23%). The workforce at present is predominantly male (80.53% male against 19.47% female). The education level and training for the largest group of the employed workforce are HSC and below HSC with some skill training (44%). The next-largest groups comprise Diploma in Engineering (25%) followed by Degree in Engineering or above (6%) and General Degree and above (3%), respectively.In respect of new workforce recruitment, a significant number of workers (22%) are employed without any prior technical training, but are given in-house or unstructured apprenticeship training in the workplace after recruitment. According to frequency of mention by employers, gaps in skills identified at initial recruitment were the lack of core skills (25%), which was ranked as the largest skill gap, followed by the lack of common/sector-specific skill, basic/generic skill and work experience with 20%, 15%, and 17% frequency of mention, respectively.In both the public and private TVET providers¿ trade courses, it appears, the curriculum format, course contents and clustering of competencies do not match the demand of the industries.
