Neuware -Pre-University Paper from the year 2018 in the subject English - Literature, Works, grade: 14, , language: English, abstract: A son revenges the murder of his father. This is the briefest description of the plot of Hamlet, one of Shakespeare¿s best-known plays. However, the tragedy explores many more ideas than just revenge, including death, love, family, politics, deception, the meaning of life, the impossibility of certainty, the complexity of action, the abilities of drama, misogyny, madness, religion, competing worldviews, loyalty, sex, gender and friendship. Even though friendship is one of the most important parts of everyone¿s life, it is often forgotten about when summing up one of Shakespeare¿s tragedies. The theme of friendship, with the exception of Timon of Athens, often seems to be secondary. The first associations with Romeo and Juliet are forbidden love and tragic death, with Macbeth they are madness and ambition, with Othello they are love and prejudices, and with Hamlet they are revenge, madness and lies. However, the theme of friendship must have been somehow essential to William Shakespeare, since he completely invented a friend not only for dramatic purposes but also for moral support for his tragic hero. The origin of the characters Horatio, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and their roles in the play Hamlet will be examined later. Furthermore, this paper aims to put the often-forgotten motive of friendship in Hamlet, Shakespeare¿s longest play and one of the most powerful and influential works of world literature, in the spotlight. It will give an overview of the Elizabethan understanding of friendship, portray Horatiös and Hamlet¿s friendship, examine the possible reasons for Rosencrantz¿s and Guildenstern¿s betrayal ¿ both are former friends of Hamlet - and answer the question how similar these friendships are to modern ones.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 28 pp. Englisch.

While dealing with this changing power more closely, it becomes conspicuous that the Internet functions as a significant force. More precisely, it appears as an engine that keeps electronic media development going. Furthermore, the Internet stands for another massive influence concerning any human being on earth that is in favor of being connected to others: Language. To make it more specific there is talk of language change. When the Internet¿s power is evaluated from a superficial perspective the thoughts that the Internet creates new words, makes prevailing words disappear, uses abbreviations instead and spreads the results on weblogs or other social media sites, comes to mind easily. However, the Internet brought various changes. One of its obvious ones is the way people talk to each other due to modern technology; looking on a phone screen has replaced looking into other people¿s eyes. Besides, the society is not forced to leave their safe homes anymore because anything that might be needed is available on the Internet, ready to be clicked on.It seems like this medium has made life easier but what is also mandatory to take into consideration are all the negative side effects that electronic media brought along: The loss of punctuation and spelling skills due to texting and the need of including as much information as possible in as little text as possible or the standardization of using abbreviations.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Essay from the year 2017 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Topic: Peace and Conflict Studies, Security, grade: 1,0, Charles University in Prague (Political Science), course: Justice and Reconciliation in Post-Conflict Societies, language: English, abstract: Within this essay, I will answer the question as to why it is important to empower youth in post-conflict societies. In order to do so, I will first engage in the theoretical framework, for example the definitions of youth and peacebuilding. After that, I will make the case in favor of the empowerment of youth by looking at 1) the very nature and characteristics of the social category that is youth and 2) the practical considerations that speak for empowering youth. In order to illustrate my argument, I will then point out why it is important to focus on youth in the exemplary case of post-conflict Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Lastly, in the concluding remarks, I will consider what implications the findings might or should have for the future of youth in post-conflict societies. On the 9th of December 2015, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) unanimously adopted a resolution. With that, the UNSC did not only acknowledge the potential of young people as active and positive contributors to peace and stability; it also tried to open up more possibilities in order to further empower youth to take part in the political processes within their respective countries. While so far young people have often been marginalized in post-conflict settings and their potential to contribute to the creating or maintaining of peace has mostly been overlooked, Resolution 2550 sets a new focus and thus seems to mark a shift in the perception of youth. Youth¿s potential in becoming active and positive agents of building peace remains untapped if they are marginalized both in the academic and political context. Thus, the main aim of this essay is to show why it is of crucial importance to change the perception of youth in post-conflict societies and empower them to make a difference.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

However, the roots of the conflict reach back centuries and have been the cause for immense bloodshed and more than 3,200 casualties. These earlier stages of the conflict as well as its course in general are to be neglected in this paper, whereas the emphasis is to be on the Good Friday Agreement or Belfast Agreement of 1998 as the political marking line between war and peace, as well as the developments up to the present.Although the end of violence as primary goal of the Agreement was largely achieved in most parts of Northern Ireland, there are still developments that run contrary to a notion of peace. These developments will subsequently be analyzed to identify weaknesses of the Good Friday Agreement and make statements about the success of the peace process possible and ultimately make assumptions about the hindrances of said peace process to this day.The indicator used to make said assumptions will be Wolff¿s post-agreement reconstruction model which was already used to analyze the progress of the peace process in 2002, which lead to a very cautious prognosis for the coming years. This paper¿s task is therefore to apply the post-agreement reconstruction model to today¿s situation to make a statement about the success of the Good Friday Agreement more than 18 years after it was signed. Due to the shortness of this paper, an emphasis will be laid on social, psychological and security indicators for the success of post-agreement reconstruction.Furthermore, the particular contents of the Belfast Agreement in their entirety are not to be listed here. However, for an analysis of the current situation in Northern Ireland it is necessary to consider at least some of the crucial points that contain the potential to obstruct the peace process or further entrench the sectarian division of Northern Ireland.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

This is important in order to identify to what extent the main female characters - Mina Harker and Lucy Westenra - go conform to those former roles. Their characters and respective roles in society will be analysed arguing that Mina represents a role model of a Victorian woman and Lucy an example of a fallen woman.Bram Stoker¿s novel Dracula is set in England and Eastern Europe at the end of the nineteenth century. It consists of a collection of journal entries, letters and telegrams so that there are several narrative perspectives. The main characters are Jonathan Harker, his fiancée Mina Murray, her friend Lucy Westenra, her fiancé Arthur Holmwood, Quincey Morris, Dr. Van Helsing and Dr. John Seward. The novel opens with Jonathan Harker, an English lawyer who travels to Transylvania to conclude a real estate transaction with a man called Count Dracula. On his way to the destination he is being warned about the castle of Count Dracula. Just a few days later Harker learns why: he is kept in prison in the castle and nearly attacked by three seductive, female vampires. Concurrently with this, his fiancée Mina visits her friend Lucy Westenra and finds her sleepwalking one night. She believes that she has seen a creature with red eyes bending over Lucy what proofs to be true: Lucy has been bitten by Dracula and therefore is slowly transforming into a vampire. As one night a wolf breaks into the house of the Westenräs, Lucy¿s mother gets a heart attack and Lucy herself gets killed. After her death Van Helsing wants Quincey, Seward and Holmwood to come Lucy¿s tomb because he wants to convince them that Lucy has transformed into a Vampire after her death. The men see her preying upon a child and get to the conclusion that she has to be destroyed. Her former fiancé Arthur Holmwood stabs a stake through her heart and hereby ultimately kills her. After this incident Jonathan, Mina, Dr. Seward and Van Helsing start hunting Dracula. One night Mina is also attacked by Dracula but she does not transform into a Vampire. At the end of the novel the male characters finish their hunt by killing Dracula and his three female vampires.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 20 pp. Englisch.

I was motivated to write about it because of its special role among the accents in the U.K. Some believe it to be 'tomorrow¿s RP'. As there are a lot of varieties of English in the media and popular music, even foreign language learners get in contact with different pronunciations and accents. Apparently, as a future language teacher, it is important for me to teach students a right pronunciation of British English and moreover to be a role model in this respect. Therefore it will certainly help me to know something about the most popular accents in Great Britain and I believe Estuary English (EE) to be one of them. What are the aims of the following term paper At first, I will define some basic terms that are important for this topic and explain the special role of EE. Second, I am going to describe the linguistic features and variables of EE in detail by referring to linguistic studies and research that has been done. After that I will talk about the status and prestige of EE and explain the role of the media in this context. Finally I am going to finish with a short summary of what has been said.Estuary English is currently one of the most interesting accents in Great Britain. It was first scientifically looked at in 1984 by David Rosewarne, who coined the term. Since then, EE has spread quickly from its original area, the Thames Estuary, to the north and west. It is widely accepted and even famous people are heard speaking EE. The most important features are the glottal stop and the l-vocalization. These are also the features that could be taken over as the future standard, as they are widely used and not only in EE. The importance of EE for the English Language as such is rather overestimated, especially in the media; still it is noteworthy that at least some features are significant for the future.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 20 pp. Englisch.

For the success of organizations will be the ability to be sensitive, fast and to deal adequately with changes in the global context to the decisive factor. This also increases the demands placed on executives, especially with regards to their 'versatility' ambiguity and uncertainty in their work environment and at the same time remain capable of acting. Intercultural encounters additionally increase the complexity. The way executives interact in a dynamic environment with their employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders from different cultures has a significant impact on the performance of an organization. Furthermore, expected leadership styles are explained and which leadership traits and behaviors are desirable from the Asian point of view. Finally, improvement approaches for better cross-cultural conflict management and expatriate leadership in Asia are discussed, while pointing out their limitations. In an increasingly globalized world, it is more and more common to work in intercultural teams with intercultural leaders. This paper is about the problems that arise when leadership is not meeting the expectations in a particular culture and when conflicts are not managed with regard to the cultural backgrounds. Asian societies tend to be collectivist cultures, where conflicts are usually avoided and where harmony is the ultimate goal. In Western societies, conflict resolution is usually characterized by direct confrontation. Expectations to a leader also differ: In Asian societies, a paternalistic leadership approach seems to be more common, whereas in Western societies a participative leadership style is used. Awareness is the first step of a successful cross-cultural cooperation, but it does not give instructions how to act in a certain situation.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2018 in the subject Didactics for the subject English - Literature, Works, grade: 2,0, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, language: English, abstract: Most people would think of Shakespeare if they were asked for the most famous poet of the Elizabethan era. He invented the ¿Shakespearean Sonnet¿ after all, which is probably the only type of Renaissance poem German students have to read during their school career. However, Shakespeare was not the only author of sonnets during this time. Someone who deserves just as much acknowledgement in this area is John Donne, who had an especially meteoric comeback in 1921 due to the publication of Eliot¿s essay ¿The Metaphysical Poets.¿ Roland Greene, an editor for the Princeton Encyclopedia of Poetry and Poetics, shows in the encyclopedia that many scholars actually consider Donne to be one of the greatest poets in the English language. His work focused on themes of love and devotion, both the physical and spiritual kinds. The latter can be also found in his poem ¿A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning.¿ In this poem, Donne describes a situation every person who has fallen in love can relate to: the lovers face an upcoming farewell. Although the poem was written around 400 years ago, it still addresses issues that can be found in several poems, songs or other stories of our time. Maybe it would be too easy to compare Donne¿s metaphysical love poetry to a current pop song since he elaborates this valediction with something resembling a catchy refrain: a series of four metaphysical conceits where he ¿unleashes all his rhetorical cleverness¿ as Greene calls it. What the title suggests and what also emerges upon a first reading is that the speaker wishes to forbid any mourning about the parting of the two lovers. They appear strong and well prepared since their love outshines the love of ¿[d]ull sublunary lover¿s¿ (13). But after further reflection, and rereading the poem, the reader can deduce that the speaker is trying to cover up his worries and fears over the parting. Baumlin raises the question of whether the last three stanzas in Donne¿s poem serve as a doubting promise that the speaker will return, and a plea for the woman¿s continued faith.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 20 pp. Englisch.

This paper examines the influence of Enlightenment philosophy upon Philip Freneau's poetry, specifically in his poems 'To Sir Toby' and 'The Wild Honeysuckle.' The poetry of Philip Freneau provides a compelling snapshot into 18th century American thought. In poems such as 'To Sir Toby,' and 'The Wild Honeysuckle,' the influence of Enlightenment philosophers such as Thomas Hobbes and Jean-Jacques Rousseau is clearly recognizable, particularly through the manner in which the subject of nature is treated. Freneau's poetry depicts a nation caught between Hobbes's cynical view of nature and Rousseau's strident romanticism of nature. Here, 'To Sir Toby' and 'The Wild Honeysuckle' are analyzed to reveal the turn of mind which led Freneau to anticipate many aspects of American Romanticism during the Post-Revolutionary Era.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Academic Paper from the year 2018 in the subject Literature - Africa, grade: 1, University of Malta (English Culture), course: The Postcolonial Novel 1: African, language: English, abstract: The three questions this paper tries to answer are to what degree the African women in both novels are or are not being dominated, what plays a role in this power-play and whether there is a significant difference between the depiction of women in the two novels, as they are set in two different African regions, Kenya and Zimbabwe. In the first section, the historical background of both plots is outlined, followed by an analysis of selected female characters of both novels. In the last section, conclusions will be drawn comparing both novels, its characters, its authors and the respective history.Men used to, and still do to some extent, dominate the literary sphere in Africa; therefore, the depiction of women was mostly that of a dutiful wife and mother. When this one-sided standard wasn¿t met, the rebellious protagonist was shown to ¿suffer the tragic fate of the non-conformist¿ , which comprehended dying or being outcasted. It might seem harmless at first, as it is ¿just¿ literature, but it is important to consider the influential power it has on people¿s perception of the world. For this reason, it became more and more important to analyze the representation of women in books and change it to a more positive picture. As the canon of female African writers started to grow, so did the multiplicity of different depictions of female characters. This change of view was not only to be found in female authors, but in male as well. Both Ngugi wa Thiong'ös A 'Grain of Wheat' and Tsitsi Dangarembgäs 'Nervous Conditions' depict different types of women and their dual struggle in finding their own female identity against both patriarchy and the colonizer.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2017 in the subject Business economics - Miscellaneous, Pforzheim University, language: English, abstract: This paper will focus on India and its food processing industry, which is an underdeveloped sector but has ambitious growth targets strongly supported by the government. Humans have been using different techniques to convert raw plant and animal materials into processed food products for several centuries now. Sun-drying and the preservation of meat or fish with salt are the oldest known methods while nowadays, food processing involves chopping, freezing, fermenting, pasteurizing, adding food additives like antioxidants or emulsifiers and many more sophisticated procedures. Like most industries, food processing ¿ ¿the linkage between farm and fork¿ ¿ has undergone tremendous technological changes. Thanks to the enhancement of machines and the development of new techniques, shelf life could be notably extended and we are able to benefit from a rich selection of diverse food products in supermarkets. However, due to the strong dependence on modern and often expensive machinery, this industry is a lot more advanced in high-income countries than in low- and middle-income countries. 36 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Essay from the year 2018 in the subject Economics - Other, grade: 39.5/40, University of Queensland, language: English, abstract: Although catalysed by the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) of 2007-2008, substantial responsibility for the Euro crisis can be attributed to the institutional and structural problems entrenched in the design of the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). The crisis led to subdued growth and record levels of unemployment in the economies of Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Spain ¿ collectively known as the GIIPS ¿ and the wider eurozone. The beginnings of the crisis were in the sovereign debt problems of these countries, the causes of which varied from successive unsustainable government deficits in Greece, to bank guarantees and bailouts shifting private debt into public hands in Ireland and Spain. What these sovereign debt crises had in common, however, were the structural and institutional problems of the EMU, which both created the conditions for, and prevented the recovery of, the wider Euro crisis. This essay will outline these problems. First, institutions and structures in the political economy will be briefly defined. Secondly, the inability of a united monetary policy to cater for the differences between northern and southern European varieties of capitalism will be examined. Thirdly, the structures and institutions hindering a swift and effective economic recovery will be outlined. Finally, the viability of proposed recovery approaches will be evaluated.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 16 pp. Englisch.

Countless amount of research has been poured into the study of leadership. Yet seemingly there is always room for more as social constructs change within our societies. While there are certain constants that have been proven within the leadership field, the uncertainties have been faced with creative leaders at the right place, right time.Unknown to many as a style of leadership, the discursive leadership methodology seems to utilize the art of framing words and ideals through a common language set to build upon organizational values and standards. Further, it places more responsibility on subordinates to pave the way for the organization¿s future; all the while, the leader of the organization is simply guiding their intent to meet their endstate but subordinates feel as if they were the ones to have created and made the change possible. However, as with any subject, discursive leadership methodologies need much more research to validate its potential as asustainable leadership approach.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

These attention-grabbing movements receiving harsh judgements of high state representatives such as Gauck reignited the public debate about the justification of civil disobedience in Germany¿a debate that is of everlasting importance among theoretical examinations.Whereas within this debate it is largely beyond question that citizens of unjust and corrupt states with no legitimately established authority clearly have the right to (even more drastic forms of) resistance, the real challenge lies in answering the following question: How, that is to say, on which grounds and under which circumstances, can illegal means of protest be justified in a prima facie legitimate state Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 32 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2014 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 1,7, University of Applied Sciences Essen, language: English, abstract: This term paper deals with the Uppsala model of internationalization and the question whether it is still working today or if modern companies have more possibilities to enter new markets in foreign countries in a different way.The model was developed almost forty years ago and the framework and conditions of internationalization and technological progress have changed a lot. In economics, internationalization is the process of increasing involvement of enterprises in international markets, although there is no agreed definition of internationalization. There are several internationalization theories which try to explain why there are international activities. This paper will stick to the classic school theory, the Uppsala model or international stage model in comparison to modern ways of internationalization by the example of ¿Born Globals¿. The Uppsala model provides a universal explanation of how internationalization works in the form of sequential stages during its early development. ¿Born Globals¿ are young companies that start to globalize very fast from the beginning without any preceding long term period of internationalization. They do not follow the stages in the suggested order, they rather leap-frog some of the steps given by the model. The aim is to show that the business world has changed and the model is not contemporary anymore. This paper will start with the backround of the Uppsala model, its structure. A description of the establishment chain and the psychic chain will follow. After that the internationalization model will be illustrated which will lead to the critical view of the Uppsala model. Chapter three describes the modern way of internationalization using the example of ¿Born Globals¿. The last chapter of this term paper is the conclusion.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 20 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Academic Paper from the year 2019 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Topic: Public International Law and Human Rights, grade: B, University of Catania (Department of Political and Social Sciences), language: English, abstract: Humans are free by nature. They enjoy right to self-preservation given the notion that humans themselves are the owners of their lives. This ownership of life bestows the right to make decisions on individual life solely on the owner of life; that is, the right to life and the right to die. As a result, individuals make decisions on whether their lives worth continuous existence or not on the basis of their encounter with the challenges of life, society, and health. To many, pains, agonies, indignities, and poor health vitiate good life. Therefore, continuous existence in such a situation debases the quality of being humans, according to many people. As a result, euthanasia and/or suicide are at the top of the decision ladder of such people in the above category. The question of whether or not individuals have right to end their lives by themselves or through another is subjected to moral, philosophical, and societal debates with different literature, policymakers, and professionals questioning the rationale behind the decision to end one¿s life by oneself or through the help of another person. This paper aims at expanding the debate by asking whether ownership of life leads to the right to die.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 24 pp. Englisch.

For many decades¿ businesses have been excelling based on the strategy adopted by the management. Notably, the wrong choice of strategy is likely to derail the firm from achieving its potential. This paper discusses one of the main business strategies that has been warmly embraced in the last decade. Time-based competition has for the past few decades been a key driver of competition in the global market. The paper discusses four main bases of time competition which includes; Product Development and Introduction Time, Material Lead Time, Delivery Time and Throughput Time. Notably, all these time bases for competition affects the global market performance of an organization in different ways. Additionally, the measures needed to determine the effect of time as a basis for competition in global competition has been discussed in details. In determining the effectiveness of the time-based competition as a strategy, the management has to asses several measures. Such measures include profitability, growth in market share, customer¿s satisfaction, increased productivity and sales.Throughout the paper, it is evident that time-based competition is a crucial driver of global market performance as opposed to quality and cost-based competition which are considered to be more of enablers in the business environment than drivers. In summary, time-based competition should be fully embraced by light-minded managers that seek to remain relevant in the competitive global market.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 16 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Academic Paper from the year 2017 in the subject Communications - Ethics in the Media, grade: 3, University of Innsbruck (American Studies), course: American Literature and Culture: America Through the Small Screen: Television and Its Transformations, language: English, abstract: The present work analyzes the exploitation of dissociative identity disorder (DID) through the entertainment industry, with a special focus on the depiction of DID in the TV series 'Mr. Robot'.Human mankind is known to be easy to bribe, but the impact these corrupt actions have on people are almost always blinded out. This also happens in the film industry where topics get exploited and distorted to make them as interesting as possible. In the end, little remains of the truth, but the spectator often does not know that and takes what is shown on screen as reality. This has also happened to a disease called 'dissociative identity disorder'. A high percentage of people are not even aware of this disease, and when they see it in movies or series they either believe it to be fantasy or they stick to the depiction given by the film, without even going further into the topic. As the depiction of the afflicted people is often one of a crazy, uncontrollable or ridiculous split personality, like in Robert Louis Stevenson¿s novella 'The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde', dating back to 1886, and in movies like 'Psycho', 'Fight Club', 'Me myself and Irene' and many more, it can have a huge negative impact on people with DID.To undo these movies which have already been created is impossible, but we still have the present to change people¿s minds and lives. Therefore, it is important to examine everything that appears on television about this topic, and as 'Mr. Robot' is a fairly new series and a third season will be aired in future, the question arises if this series too has been exploiting and distorting DID for the sake of entertainment; hence, this is the question this paper is aimed to answer. In order to properly analyze 'Mr. Robot', first a detailed definition of dissociative identity disorder will be given to understand what DID is really all about. Secondly, an examination about two fairly recent examples of the exploitation of DID will follow to make sure the reader of this paper understands how reckless the filming industry can sometimes be. The last chapter will exclusively be about the series 'Mr. Robot' and its depiction of dissociative identity disorder, following the topic question.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 32 pp. Englisch.

In addition, with the daily evolution of information technology, the ERP system has been progressing and building itself for the last two decades, until it took the shape we all know now. On the other hand, Business Process Management (BPM) can be identified as the discipline that reaches for the maximum control and management of organizational structure and format of the business processes, which eventually leads to enhanced business process management. This research paper is exploring the impact of ERP on the effectiveness of business process management by evaluating ERP potential development on business processes and how automation provided by ERP would affect these processes. In addition, this study aims to demonstrate the functionalities of ERP, and their possible positive effect the system may have on business performance, even though some studies argue that not all ERP implementation project succeed. The paper is organized as follows: the first section will discuss ERP's definition, evolution and history, functionalities, the implementation stages of ERP systems, benefits of ERP and the cloud ERP and its types. The second section will discuss the definition of business processes management. In addition, the BPM methodologies including business process architecture, how to make the right choice for methodology and process classification framework. The last section will discuss and explore how investing in ERP can improve BPM by explaining the budget, time and plan needed for ERP systems and business processes re-engineering and system integration to match with the ERP systems. Also this section includes benefits and risks of ERP on BPM by evaluating ERP effectiveness and efficiency and assessing risks.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 36 pp. Englisch.

BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 36 pp. Englisch.

In want to find out if the American exceptionalism and its three dimensions give an impression of what it means to gain an American identity. Obviously, being American means to share the same values, but it is not clear if it means to also share the same citizenship. I take a close look at the idea of multiculturalism that challenges the current ideological solutions for equality and diversity in the United States, trying to answer the question whether multiculturalism is or is not a threat to the idea of an American Identity. The meaning and consequences of national identification have long been the subject of debate among philosophers, historian, and social scientist. The identification with the American country through national attachment, pride, and loyalty is self-evident for many Americans. A national identity shared by fellow citizen creates a sense of unity and a bond of solidarity. The question of what defines an identity or the American identity, to be specific, is not clarified. What is clear, however, is the important and vast difference between a patriot, who feels a sense of pride and love for his country, while the nationalist views his country as superior with a desire to dominate other countries. However, both are bond by their trust for the American values. Freedom, Truth, Justice and the American way of life.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 24 pp. Englisch.

Cooperative learning is an efficient and evidence-based teaching method for inclusive classrooms, which puts the emphasizes on learning that is facilitated by students rather than the teacher and thus represents a shift from traditional lecture-style classrooms to more brain-friendly environments. However, although cooperative learning is consistently acknowledged for its efficacy, its implementation remains a challenge. The question whether teachers have the professional competences needed to implement inclusive education is often ignored. The implementation of the convention brings new challenges to the classroom. Inclusive classrooms require inclusive teaching, which means a change of paradigm from a teacher-centred education to a student-centred education has to be enforced. The traditional role distribution between teachers and students does not do justice to an inclusive classroom. The conventional imparting of knowledge and competences should be replaced by a more auto-didactical approach. Consequently, the education requirements for students and teachers change. There is innumerable research on cooperative learning but only limited research sheds light on the new role a teacher has to take on when it comes to implementing cooperative learning in inclusive classrooms. The main questions to be answered are the following: What does a teacher need to consider when they implement cooperative learning in classrooms How can the teacher support cooperative learning in an inclusive classroom Is it even possible for a teacher to fulfil all requirements that come with cooperative learning in an inclusive classroom BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 24 pp. Englisch.
