Rarissima grande fotografia a colori pubblicitaria delle Grotte di Postumia. Nella fotografia, visibile solo con una fonte di luce che la illumini al recto, è riprodotta la passeggiata all'interno delle grotte con ben visibile il sentiero e al ringhiera di ferro. Le Grotte di Postumia, sono un complesso carsico che si trova in Slovenia e sono situate nella periferia di Postumia (antico nome tedesco Adelsberg) e sono composte da quasi 21 km di gallerie e caverne. Le grotte divennero luogo di visita già dal XIII secolo anche se le prime descrizioni delle grotte risalgono al 1689 quando Johann Weichart Valvasor pubblicò la sua opera "Gloria del Ducato di Carniola". Nel 1818, lo speleologo, Luka Cec scoprì la parte di grotte che sarebbero poi diventate la parte principale del percorso turistico. Risale al 1872 la rete ferroviaria a scartamento ridotto che si inoltra all'interno delle grotte e che ne caratterizza ancora oggi, il percorso turistico e che ne fanno l'unico sistema di grotte naturali che possiede al suo interno, una ferrovia. Nel 1884 venne introdotta, anche, la corrente elettrica che permise l'illuminazione delle grotte. Nel 1918, Postumia venne annessa all'Italia e questo portò ad un notevole incremento del turismo grazie all'opera di Luigi Vittorio Bertarelli. Rarità fotografica.…
