He is reading a book, but the book doesn't help, and indeed feeds his anxieties, rendering his loss in starkly contrasting lines. The second story, 'Discovering the Dark,' is 26 pages and drawn with two colors. Akihiro Akaike is employed as a repairman aboard an asteroid mining ship in the year 2033. Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Nod Away is set on a near-future version of earth. A deep space transport has been developed to take a small crew to an earth-like, habitable planet in a nearby system in an attempt to begin colonization/repopulation. The internet is now telepathic and referred to as the 'innernet.' When the hub is revealed to be a human child, Melody McCabe is hired to develop the new nexus on the second International Space Station. Working within the structure of sci-fi, Nod Away moves back and forth between physical and psychological worlds, utilizing traditional and abstract storytelling styles to explore what consciousness could be, where it could possibly be located, and what function or point it might serve.…

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Frank In The 3rd Dimension is a series of Jim Woodring's loveliest pictures -- 32 anecdotal visual vignettes, dioramas, moments pickled in time -- as you've never seen Frank before: in 3D, about as real as you can get him outside of an Ionescoian theatrical performance (which could be next -- watch your local theater listings). Frank and Frank's world are already hallucinatory, but seeing him in the most technologically advanced and artistically crafted 3D ever produced--more than 150 layers per drawing to round and 'sculpt' each image into full, volumetric 3D -- is an experience that has to be savored to be believed. Packaged with 3D glasses designed by Woodring himself, this new printing brings one of our most requested titles back into print again.…

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Reed Crandall's mastery of fine line detail and expertly nuanced pen-and-ink texture is a perfect fit for EC Comics. This collection of 21 Crandall favorites, delineated in his classically illustrative style, includes 'The Silent Towns,' a Ray Bradbury story about the last man and woman on Mars; 'Carrion Death,' a stark horror story about a man struggling through the desert with a corpse handcuffed to his wrist as the vultures circle closer; 'Sweetie-Pie,' the grisly story of a ghoul who sets up a roadside hazard to procure, um, fresh meat; 'The Kidnapper,' about a man who decides to kidnap a baby to replace the baby that had been stolen from him and his wife; 'Space Suitors,' a science fiction love triangle that leads to jealously, betrayal, and murder, and 'The High Cost of Dying,' the title story, in which a man must make an awful choice between burying his wife and feeding his children .…

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - In a way that only the medium of comics can, The Book of Hope slows the reader down to the rhythms of the silent life of a retired couple living in a rural countryside. Behind the static, routine moments of everyday life something bigger takes shape. A flash of encroaching death starts to consume the husband, leading to visions and questions. This graphic novel from cartoonist Tommi Musturi is a thoughtful exploration of the human condition, and the series of mostly quotidian moments that make up most of our lives. The strong presence of silence and nature reflect the arctic exotica of Musturi's native Finland, but with a relatability, eloquence, and economy that will remind American readers of Chris Ware's Jimmy Corrigan. The Book of Hope is a humane book filled with timeless humor and life itself.…
