Buch Erstausgabe
Soft cover. Zustand: Fair. 1st Edition. Original edition, later printing, the first printing being in 1881. Original chromolithograph wrappers with illustrations on front and back. The rear wrapper has a standing portrait of McKay and is an advertisement for a cureall, the "Great Indian Medicine Ka-Ton-Ka." Fair copy, complete, front wrapper chipped around edges though only nicking the picture in one place, rear wrapper chipped along attachment to spine and at outer corners with loss of a little decoration but lettering nearly all there, wrappers firmed along inside edges with acid-free archival tape. From p. 69 to the end of the book, including 16 pages of advertisements, the top corner of each page has been firmed diagonally with acid-free archival tape, except for the last two pages, from which the top corner is missing with no loss of text. Printed on poor paper and very brittle overall, requires careful handling. Sold as is with all faults. The wrappers are spectacular, and the book could be put in a shadowbox to show off the covers.
