In den WarenkorbSoft cover. Zustand: Very Good. Original black titled wraps with b/w photo of the Kaaba during Hajj, set within an ornate geometric gilt design 13x18cm. Printed and made at Ashraf Press, Lahore, by Sh(eikh) Muhammad Ashraf, Publisher, Kashmiri Bazar, Lahore (Pakistan), and published by Jamiatul-Ulama-e-Natal, Wasbank, Natal, South Africa. xxii, 96pp English text with Arabic recitations, translated from the original Urdu by Moulana C.M. Sena of Wasbank, Natal. The author himself is stated as coming from Medina. Wraps very good, foxed. Interiors near fine. To the front blank are the very neat previous owner details (Clive Kessler, Kuala Lumpur, January 1969), and local bookseller's ink stamp (Jubilee (Book) Store, 97 Jalan Tuanku Ab. Rahman, KL). This title however appears to be rare, with Worldcat locating 3 institutions for this edition (OCLC 318174656: BL, University of Toronto, National Library Board Singapore), and 1 for the 1st edition only, with an internet search adding a copy of an unspecified edition at Sunamganj Public Library in Bangladesh. This guide would have given a clear idea on the rituals performed and challenges faced by Malaysian Hajjis. The opening section details the direction of Qiblah, and the formalities of prayer under diverse circumstances (when leaving home, when mounting a horse, when boarding a ship (plane or car), before and after entering a town (or village), in mornings and evenings, and in times of fear (horror) and loneliness. Subsequent chapters detail the rituals of Hajj and Umrah.…
