Print. Zustand: Very good condition. Beautiful half page image of a New Zealand War Chief, and Canoe with 4 column inch article printed. The image shows a "portrait of a gentleman" wth facial tattoos and an elaborately carved canoe with a manned canoe in the background and coastal mountains. The article mentions the Maori chief's status, Maori marriage tradtions and that 'New Zealanders, by the labors of the missionaries, many have been converted to Christianity, and consequently the former practices of polygamy and cannibalism have, in a good measure, been abolished by them."
