Outsiders i konsten' på Liljevalchs konsthall 1980 och 'Särlingar' på Malmö konsthall 1991. Att det nu åter blir aktuellt med en utställning av det här slaget känns mycket glädjande. Både på Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde och Malmö konstmuseum finns ett rikt material bestående av sjukdomsverk av de båda svenska konstnärerna Carl Fredrik Hill och Ernst Josephson. På Waldemarsudde anordnades dessutom 1991 en utställning benämnd 'Skapande patienter. Bilder ur Karolinska Institutets psykiatriska samling'. Utanförskapet och i en del fall sjukdomen tycks vara det som präglat dessa sinsemellan mycket olika konstnärsindivider.
