Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - How do we find Christ in films that are not directly about Jesus of Nazareth This has been one of the recurring challenges to Peter Malone who has spent more than fifty years as a reviewer of films with a constant interest in uncovering themes, characters and plots that reveal Christ-like figures and images.…

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Denham Grierson's new volume of poems gladly acknowledges that the poet's craft and art is unlike any other genre of writing and composition. The thoughts and words come often unbidden, unresolved, into the poet's consciousness, requiring openness, hesitancy and perhaps, above all, a degree of humility in offering what are ultimately reflections on situations and realities experienced personally and socially in our troubled world. In 'times of heaviness', the poet seeks to bring light and air, to offer hope, to remind us of kindness, compassion and the other utterly human values that help us experience the goodness of life in all its expressions. The changes themselves suggest a different understanding of sin among priests and people and so the need for a new approach. The author seeks to take account of the new mindset and to suggest a new way of thinking about sin.Frank O'Loughlin is a priest, theologian and liturgist. In Does sin matter , he reflects on changed attitudes in the church about sin, and helps us explore an understanding of it - from Scripture, tradition, ancient and contemporary sources - to reconsider the reality of human sinfulness and to appreciate more deeply Christ's teaching about human sinfulness. The author also offers celebrations of penance and reconciliation that reflect a renewed understanding of sin and forgiveness, inviting us to consider them precisely in the light of Christ's death and resurrection.…
