I am pleased to offer a very nice copy of the now rather scarce (perhaps rare, only one copy found online) of Berenice M. Ball s Barns of Chester County, Pennsylvania. This medium-sized hard cover book (7 ¼ x 10 ½ inches, 241 pages) was published by the Chester County Day Committee of the Women s Auxiliary of the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, Pennsylvania. This is the First Edition, dated 1974 and is signed by the Author on the Limitation Page. There were only 5000 copies published and this one is numbered 1959. The book is bound in gray boards with red titles on the spine and protected by a printed paper dust jacket. The book is very well illustrated with many b&w photos and some pen & ink drawings and also a few color photos of the barns in question. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket is toned and shows some edge wear particularly at the spine tips missing small chips. The hardcovers are still clean and bright without bumping although there is some very minor fraying to the bottom edge of the front cover, barely noticeable. Inside, there is a gift inscription on the first blank page but that is the only mark I found in the book (other than the author s signature on the limitation page). Both hinges are starting but just barely and the binding is still tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.

I just listed a lovely book about Chester County, Pennsylvania by the same author and am pleased to be able to follow-up with yet another. Please find: "Forty Years of Days," by Berenice M. Ball. This medium-sized hard cover book (7 ¼ x 10 ½ inches, 182 pages) was published by the Chester County Day Committee of the Women's Auxiliary of the Chester County Hospital, dated 1980. This book is a limited, numbered and signed First Edition; is number 3121 of 4000 copies. The book is bound in forest green cloth with gilt titles and decorations on cover and spine; it is protected by a printed paper dust jacket. The book is very well illustrated with photographs of the local scene in both b&w and color. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket is generally clean and bright with just some slight bumping to the corners and spine tips. Hard covers are clean and attractive. Inside, there is a gift inscription on the front endpaper but that is the only mark I found in the book. The interior pages are bright white and clean throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Signed by Author.
