Album. 12 albumen silver prints of cut paper silhouettes. Each 2 1/2 x 4 inches; his name blind stamped on each image, housed within a CDV album (publisher pasted text). Embossed black cloth titled in gilt, corners bumped some abrasions and spine slightly split. Final image is an actual cut out silhouette. New York: Charles Becker, 1863. This album contains albumin silhouettes printed in carte-de-visite format, showing the beautiful, intricate psaligraphy (paper-cutting) work of George Schmidt, including a self-portrait of the artist at work, scenes of farms, plants and animals. This is a wonderful example of his work.
