The story of an impoverished doctor's family living and growing up in the tiny village of Glanton, Northumberland between 1859 and 1965. It is a fascinating account,drawn largely from family correspondence, of a rural and individual family life in a bygone age. It was originally written in 1975 by Joyce Robertson, the last surviving member of the family, and her hand-typed manuscript lay amongst boxes of family correspondence until 2010, when it fell into the hands of the Glanton Heritage Group, who decided to publish the book as it represented an important local and social history document. Soft laminated covers, p.180, illustrated with photographs, maps & line drawings. This is numbered on the title page as 'Book Number 67' from an unspecified number printed. Book condition: fine: a nice, clean, unmarked copy.
