Loosely inserted is a letter from the publisher of this volume, Robert Saunderson, dated 1858. This work traces the disputes following the division of Roderic The Great's kingdom upon his death, and gives an insight into the history of Wales in general. This edition also contains a brief memoir on the life of the author. It notes that "in the literary annals of the Principality [Wales] no name stands higher." The work is dedicated to his descendant, and the family's pedigree is included as a folding genealogy. There is also a list of subscribers. In the publisher's original cloth binding.
