Small ringmark to the front board of 'In the Reign of Terror'. Cloth to the rear joint of "One of the 28th" is a little cockled. Decoration to the front board of "At Aboukir and Acre" is rubbed. Front hinge is starting to "No Surrender", "At Aboukir and Acre", and "St. Bartholomew"s Eve", hinges of 'In the Reign of Terror' are starting but firm. Hinges of 'Red Skin and Cow Boy' are strained. "Courage and Conflict" label to the front paste down. "One of the 28th" gift inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound, "Redskin and Cow Boy" binding is strained in places. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots. "No Surrender" is bound without the frontispiece. "At Aboukir and Acre" is bound without the plate facing page 323. "Courage and Conflict" ink inscription to the head of the contents leaf. Plate facing pages 39, 98, 167, and 262 in "Redskin and Cow Boy" are detached but present, lacking the plate to face page 130. Stamp to the half-title and title page of "Redskin and Cow Boy", and an ink inscription to the recto of the frontispiece, title page is working loose. Good. book.
