°°° FIRST EDITION OF PASTERNAK'S LEGENDARY POEM, HARDCOVER ORIGINAL; HIS LAST MAJOR LYRIC WORK (beside 2 patriotic releases during and towards the end of the war) before he wrote his famous and only novel 'Dr. Zhivago' which brought him the Nobelprize for Literature: The collection reflects a turning point in the poet's attitude, caused by his romance with Zinaida Nikolaevna Neuhaus whom he married in 1934 after both divorced their former marriages. The future wife also influenced the style of the poet's works: knowing that she perceived complex metaphors in poetry very coolly, Pasternak promised her to write as 'simply' as possible. In one of the letters dated April 1931, he admitted that his love for Zinaida Neuhaus, who knows how to >simplify everything to complete happiness< gave him the opportunity to openly and simply look at the world around him. ''By 1932, Pasternak had strikingly reshaped his style to make it more understandable to the general public and printed the new collection of poems, . . .
