Her second career as an art photographer began in 1979 and continues to this day. She is acknowledged as one of the earliest pioneers of color art photography. This book has come into being out of an intermingling of her two professions [from artist's statement]. At age 95 she considers this book to be her autobiography. Her introduction traces the paths of her two careers from an early age. Her beautiful and evocative photographs are organized into two sections. The first record her visits to her beloved Harbour Island in the Bahamas over four decades. The second section she titles "Painting with a Camera."
