Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Set in the not too distant future, this is the story of two estranged brothers traveling separate roads in life during a time when America has become obsessed with safety and security. Eventually, their paths meet, bringing them together again for a common goal. With rising crime rates and frequent terrorist attacks, the government abolishes states' rights and creates a national police force. Without the bureaucratic red tape of the now eliminated state and local law enforcement agencies, and under the iron hand of a corrupt federal police force, the crime rate drops dramatically. At first, the citizens are pleased with the changes, in spite of loosing some of their civil liberties, but eventually dissention and unrest develops among the more liberal minded. Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - This book is a collection of contemporary and abstract poetry dealing with the life and daily happenings through the fifties. People, places, attitudes and New York City nostalgia are the subjects of this collection of poetry. The 50's in New York City had a profound impact on the life of Michael A. J. Sardo. Writing about this era wasn't too hard to pen as it was an exciting time, a sad time, and a thought-provoking time in this poet's life. The sounds of Sardo's writings vibrate with the hustle and bustle of New York City. The author expresses in verse the often overlooked minor details of the big city. He sees the beauty in trivial occurrences. He hears the musical rhythms in the sounds of New York City. From Greenwich Village, he travels north toward the streets to mid-town, stopping along the way to do his shopping for ideas. Daytime and nighttime glamour of the greatest city in the world is what this contemporary poet is creating with his paper and pen canvas. His legal pads of various colors depicting his different moods are the medium of his excursions into the world of abstract, and sometimes surrealistic, poetry. It is the hope of Michael A. J. Sardo that New York City alive and vibrant, will take over this work of contemporary poetry. Many of the poems in this book represent approaches to configurations of sounds. Often times in the abstract poetry of this book, definitions of words become a minor point as compared to their sounds patterns.…

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - This volume of poetry has been in the planning stage since March of 2000. In this collection of contemporary and abstract poetry, Michael A. J. Sardo paints word pictures, forms and images about the lives of Black African American friends. He touches on their lives and activities as he sees them, not just through physical eyes but also through spiritual eyes. The African Americans Sardo writes about in many of his poems have played an important role, from time to time, in assisting his wife and him at the Jefferson County Rescue Mission where they both work, assisting homeless and poor people of Jefferson County in Missouri. In writing this tribute, Michael A. J. Sardo has tried to capture moods and images of African Americans he has known in Missouri but he also goes back to his early childhood in East New York Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx. This small book makes no attempt to be an erudite poetic work on African Americans. Rather, A Tribute to My Black Friends, is strictly a collection of contemporary and abstract poetry about the lives and activities of Black people who have made lasting impressions on Michael A. J. Sardo.…

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Gold Fever!'--'The first major gold rush was in Auraria, Georgia, not in California. Fever--nowhere is the connotation of that word so well understood the world over than when connected with GOLD. Nowhere is our planet immune and nowhere can you find a finer aggregate of the fever skillfully used as a backdrop in a tale that dovetails real history.Gold and The Trail of Tears are historical reminders in which our nation cannot find pride. The Eye of the Eagle is a story of the first major gold rush and some of the resulting tragedy suffered by the Cherokee Indians because of the white man's greed. The story can have as much to do with learning as it does with adventure, and is fun reading for almost any age about a time when life may have been simpler, but certainly not easier. Mix a pound of gold, a cup of Indians, a pinch of good guys, a pinch of bad guys, miles of wilderness, a spoonful of military, a half-pint town, love and devotion, and you'll find circumstances embroiled in flavors you just can't find anywhere else.'.…
