A fictionalized account of critical moments in The Chicano Movement or El Movimiento: specifically, the Chicano Moratorium. Acosta served as the lawyer for several of the activists involved in the Chicano Moratorium, and ran for sheriff of Los Angeles County in 1970. His platform consisted of abolishing the sheriff's department. While Acosta may be best-known for his close friendship with Hunter S. Thompson, he himself led a similarly frenetic life influenced by the drug culture of the 1960's, but Acosta also aggressively pursued full civil rights for himself and his people. The second and final book published during the author's lifetime. Acosta would disappear on a trip to Mexico one year after this book was published. A strip of toning on the fore-edge, the spine toned; light rubbing to the jacket's corners and the spine panel gently sunned.

2. Print. 4°. o. S. mit zahlr. fotografischen Bildtafeln. ill. OKart. Block ausgebunden.
