Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Writers just have to write. True enough. So true, in fact, that this thought has become something of a mantra for everyone who feels compelled to get those thoughts, that rhyme, that story onto paper before inspiration flits along. Not as cliché, but certainly as important, is that writers also must share their work. Since 2012, WriteOn Joliet has provided a platform for that important process. WriteOn Joliet lets authors read their work, commiserate, laugh, and pick up a pointer or two from others likewise engaged. 'Write Where We Are' collects some of the best examples of that community process. This inaugural anthology features a broad selection of writing styles including poetry, essays, short stories, a novella, and an excerpt from a novel. Some WriteOn Joliet members write professionally. For others, writing is a hobby and a creative release. Some have been traditionally published, others have self-published, and some are still working toward publication. Regardless of where they are on their creative path, all of the authors in this anthology share a passion for the (frustrating, joyful, mysterious and magical) art and craft of writing. WriteOn Joliet is excited and proud to share their work.…

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - You want to know what's on my mind In my heart On my soul You want to know what makes me happy, or angry What I believe as truth and what I discard as nonsense You want to see thought in action Blood and sweat and tears turned to ink, black as oil and just as valuable Then read my words. That's the mantra/prayer/fervent wish and dream of every writer since the first cave dwellers first drew pictures of the great hunt on their walls illuminated by the campfire's faint light.Writers write so as to share their spirits. They write to tell the world - even if 'the world' comprises only a handful of family and friends - what it is that moves them to think, to cry, to smile, to laugh. What inspires them to take pen to paper (or put fingers to keyboard) and announce their own 'A-ha!' moments in the hopes of inspiring others to the same lofty heights, or depths, as the case may be. Whether by fiction or non, prose or poetry, a tightly scripted play or free verse guided only by the author's mental, emotional and spiritual wanderlust, writers write to share their vision, experiences, hopes and dreams. Now, WriteOn Joliet proudly offers its fourth annual anthology as an example of some of our best work this year, as our little 'proof' that writing truly opens and exposes humanity to its truest nature, one word at a time.Enjoy.…
