Allen organised many exhibitions of artists he admired and published several works on art. With Allen Freer's bookplate to the front pastedown.George Etherege's best known works are to this volume, including 'The Comical Revenge or, Love in a Tub' and 'She Would if She Could' and 'The Man of Mode or, Sir Fopling Flutter'.The first collected edition of this important Restoration playwright George Etherege's works. The collected works of the Cavalier poet Sir John Suckling [ 1609 - 1642 ]. Renowned for his wit & gambling at cards ( he is said to have been the inventor of Cribbage ), he was forced to leave England after plotting to bring the French to the aid of Charles I. He fled to France & ended his life with poison. The book contains his Poems, Letters of Eminet Persons, An Account of Religion by Reason, and the plays Aglaura, The Goblins, Brennoralt & The Sad One. 450 grams.
