Externally, reasonably smart. Slight bumping and rubbing, resulting in moderate loss to leather, particularly to joints, fore edge and rear board. WIth noticeable marking to front board. Internally, generally firmly bound with binding more delicate towards the front of the text block. Bright and clean copy with light sporadic spotting. Very Good. book.

Original publisher's full dark green morocco, elaborate gilt-stamped decoration to covers and spine; spine lettered in gilt; all edges gilt. With 21 tissue-guarded steel engravings of J. M. W. Turner's views. The engraved plates (like the text) are remarkably clean with only tiny spots of foxing in a few cases. Binder's label, 'F. Westley, Binder, Friar Street near Doctors Commons' (sic). Armorial bookplate of Fletcher Castell Hungerford Littledale (1846-1919) on front pastedown. Extremities rubbed; light rubbing to covers and spine; very sl wear at pine hinges. Contemporary Inscription on front blank. Light scattered foxing to extra title page and ffep. VG Minus- internally VG+). Uncommon. The earliest of three 'annual tours' (the others were published in 1834 and 1835).
