Dramatic clouds frame the top of the scene. Engraved by WM. C Robertson 50 Cedar St. NY. Large folio, framed size 28 x 23". In the period handsome dark wood and gilt rimmed frame with the original glass, the bubbles of which cast a slight shadow on the print. In an old mat, slightly. Print paper slightly wavy.

Highly u…nusual view taken from Fort Putnam, (the old fort above West Point), looking down to the parade ground (which is heavily wooded), with the old Delafield library in the foreground. The river slants from right to left between Bull Hill and Storm King, which artistic license has allowed to look distinctly "Matterhorn-ish". The river is busy with 2 paddle steamers, several sloops and a steam train. Cold Spring is visible in the distance.
