Loose Print. Zustand: Good or Better. Title printed in French is "Vue de la Bastille de Paris. De la Porte de St. Antoine et d'une parte de Fauxbourg." A hand colored, engraved copperplate print, measuring 9.25 x 18.5 inches wide, showing a view of the Bastille in Paris, France, in 1749. Print is mounted onto period card w. some creases, toning, a few stains and two short closed marginal tears. Drawn by I. Rigaud and engraved by P. Angier. Printed along lower edge is "London. Printed for R. Sayer Map & Printseller facing Fetter Lane and Fleet Street & J. Boydell Engraver at the Unicorn the Corner of Queen Street Cheapside & H. Overton Without Newgate." A nice 18th century view of this storied Parisian landmark, executed by a group of accomplished journeymen and artists.
