Moderate cracking to hinges and gutters, with exposed netting, pages are loose. Previous owner's inscriptions to front pastedown and half-title page. Front free endpaper cut out. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing to spine ends. Water staining to both boards.

Neat, clean, well bound pages with very minimal foxing, tanning and thumbing. Small inscriptions and neat labels may be present. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning.

Undated, but prize bookplate on slightly browned front free endpaper dated Christmas 1950, so likely a much later reprint. Faint foxing on page edges. Lower corner of pp. 45-66 bent. Binding tight. Blue cloth with black lettering on spine. A little wear to spine head & foot. Used - Good. Good hardback (no dust jacket).
